Children's National Specialists Present at American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference

Our specialists represented Children’s National at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Fla. earlier this week. Our specialists and researches gave over two dozen presentations to other pediatricians and health care professionals from around the world during the four-day conference dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children worldwide.

A few presentation highlights from Children’s National include: 

• Mental health diagnoses among U.S. children, youth continue to rise at alarming rate
• Kids’ firearm-related injuries differ: Younger kids are more likely to be injured accidentally
• Racial and ethnic differences in emergency pain relief for kids with broken bones
• Resiliency in NICU parents may be linked to lower depression and anxiety
